FAQs
Why choose wood holds?
Wood is an ultra skin friendly and sustainable material. The best option for a home or gym spray wall where you can train train and train without skin being your limiting factor and without adding more plastic to the world.
Why choose Real Rock Holds?
While wood is an amazing material to save skin when having a long and hard session the reality is your outdoor project is not made of wood and is not skin friendly. So during the in between of your trips outdoors keep your skin conditioned to real rock... by climbing on real rock.
What is the best way to clean these holds?
Besides a good brushing after every time you climb to keeps chalk and rubber buildup to a minimum - the best way to clean our holds, both wood and rock, is a spritz of isopropyl alcohol and a brush. The isopropyl alcohol works down deep into the pores and as it evaporates is fantastic at lifting all the grime and skin oils up loosely to the surface. Then just take that brush and sweep it all away.
Water is not advisable to use due to the nature of wood to absorb it and expand and contract. The second best option would be some cleaning vinegar.
Where do the rocks come from?
The majority of the rocks will come from private land, collected with permission, around the greater Red River Gorge Area. Occasionally friends bring us rocks they have also responsibly collected from other locations.
